Privacy Policy

Last updated: 5 June 2026

1. Who we are

Proximath is a daily word game operated from the United Kingdom. If you have any questions about this policy, please contact us at proximath@gmail.com.

2. Data we collect

When you create an account and play the game, we collect:

  • Email address — provided when you register or sign in with Google
  • Game results — whether you solved the daily word and how many guesses it took
  • Guess history — the words you entered in each game
  • Score statistics — your win rate, current streak, and day ranking

You can play without an account; in that case your game state is stored only in your browser's local storage and is not sent to our servers.

3. Why we collect it

  • To provide and maintain your user account
  • To track your scores, streaks, and rankings across devices
  • To prevent duplicate submissions for the same daily puzzle
  • To improve the game based on aggregated, anonymised usage patterns

4. How we store it

All account and game data is stored in Supabase, a managed cloud database service. Every table is protected by Row Level Security (RLS) policies, meaning each user can only access their own data. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest.

5. Third-party services

We use the following third-party services to operate the game:

Supabase

Database and authentication. Stores your account and game data. Operated by Supabase, Inc. See their privacy policy.

Vercel

Hosting and content delivery. Serves the game to your browser. Operated by Vercel, Inc. See their privacy policy.

Google AdSense

Advertising. Google may use cookies and similar technologies to serve personalised ads based on your visits to this and other websites. See Google's privacy policy.

Stripe

Payment processing for premium subscriptions. We do not store your payment card details; these are handled directly by Stripe. See their privacy policy.

6. Cookies

We use two categories of cookies:

  • Essential cookies — set by Supabase to manage your authentication session. These are required for the site to function and cannot be disabled.
  • Advertising cookies — set by Google AdSense to serve relevant ads and measure their performance. You can opt out via Google Ad Settings.

7. We do not sell your data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third parties for their marketing purposes.

8. Your rights

Under UK data protection law (UK GDPR) you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, email us at proximath@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days.

To delete your account and all associated data, email proximath@gmail.com with the subject line "Delete my account".

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version. Continued use of Proximath after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
